As of 2025 I hadn't got round to birding in Africa so I booked a 10 night package deal with TUI, which took care of the accommodation and flight from and to the UK, and organised a guide.
I went to Kotu Creek, near the Senegambia Strip where I was staying, down to Tujereng Woods, upriver to Kuntaur and Georgetown (now called Janjanbureh) and Bansang Quarry, before returning to the coast with birding stops. Then I visited Kartong and Gunjur Konoto Forest.
